Solutions for common issues
Replay or buffer not working
- Ensure microphone permission is granted in Settings → Privacy & Security → Microphone → Meeting Rewind.
- Check that "Display Over Other Apps" is allowed if you use the floating button.
- Restart the app and try again.
- During an active phone or VoIP call, the system may restrict microphone access; replay may resume after the call ends.
Transcript not appearing
- Grant Speech Recognition permission when prompted (Settings → Privacy & Security → Speech Recognition).
- Ensure you have stopped the recording before the transcript sheet appears.
- Check that your device supports on-device speech recognition (iOS 18+).
Floating button not showing or not draggable
- Go to Settings → Meeting Rewind → allow "Display Over Other Apps" (or the equivalent overlay permission).
- Restart the app after granting permission.
- If the button is off-screen, open the app and use Settings to reset button position or use a saved preset.
In-app purchase (Remove Ads) not restoring
- Ensure you're signed in with the same Apple ID used to purchase.
- Use "Restore Purchases" in Settings → Remove Ads.
- Check your internet connection. If it still fails, contact Apple Support or us with your receipt.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is my audio sent to the cloud?
No. All audio is processed and stored only on your device. The rolling buffer is memory-only and overwritten. Saved recordings and transcripts are stored locally (Core Data).
How much does the app cost?
Meeting Rewind is free to download ($0.00). An optional one-time in-app purchase Remove Ads ($2.99) disables interstitial ads that may appear after every other recording save.
Does it work with Bluetooth headsets?
Yes. Replay uses the current audio route, so if you have AirPods or another Bluetooth headset connected, replay will play through that device.
Can I use it during phone calls?
During an active phone or VoIP call, iOS may restrict or suspend microphone access for other apps. Buffering may pause; it can resume when the call ends and the app is in the foreground again.
