Hear the last few seconds again
How it works
The app keeps a short rolling buffer (15 seconds to 3 minutes, set in Settings) of recent audio in memory. When you trigger replay, it plays back the last few seconds (3–30 seconds, configurable) so you can hear it again without saving anything.
How to trigger replay
- Floating button: Long-press while buffering to replay; or use the Replay option in the expanded menu.
- Main app: Use the Accessibility menu or start buffering from the home screen, then trigger replay from the floating button.
- Widget: Home screen or Control Center widget — tap Replay.
- Siri / Shortcuts: “Hey Siri, replay last seconds” or use the Replay action in Shortcuts.
- Apple Watch (Wrist Rewind): Tap Replay on the Watch to replay on your iPhone.
- URL: Open
meetingrewind://replayormeetingrewind://replay?duration=15from another app or Shortcuts.
Settings that affect replay
Buffer duration (15–180 s): How much audio is kept. Replay duration (3–60 s): How many seconds play back when you trigger replay. Replay speed: 0.75×, 1×, or 1.25×. You can also turn haptic feedback on or off when replay is triggered.
Record → Transcript → Save or Discard
Capture a segment and get a transcript
How to record
Floating button: Tap once to start recording (button turns red). Tap again to stop. The transcript sheet opens with the on-device speech recognition result. You then choose Save (adds to your library and can show share sheet; an ad may appear after every other save unless you have Remove Ads) or Discard (deletes the recording).
Saved library
Open Saved from the main (Root) screen to see all saved recordings. For each: play, view transcript, share, export to Notes (share sheet), add to Reminders, or delete. Everything is stored only on your device (Core Data).
Privacy
Transcription uses Apple’s Speech framework on-device. No audio or transcript is sent to our or Apple’s servers for this feature. Saved recordings and transcripts stay in the app’s local storage.
Floating Button & Everywhere Access
Use Meeting Rewind from anywhere
Floating overlay button
A draggable button that stays on top of other apps (requires “Display Over Other Apps” permission). Tap (idle): Start recording. Tap (recording): Stop and open transcript sheet (Save/Discard). Long-press (idle): Expand menu (Settings, Accessibility). Long-press (recording): Instant rewind without stopping. Drag to move; position and size (Small/Medium/Large) are saved. You can save up to 3 position presets in Settings.
Keyboard extension
Add the Meeting Rewind keyboard in Settings → General → Keyboard → Keyboards. Buttons: Rewind (open app to replay), Start/Stop buffering, Open App. Uses the same buffer and settings as the main app.
Share extension
From the system share sheet (e.g. Safari, Mail): choose Meeting Rewind to Replay last X seconds, Start buffering, or Stop buffering.
Widgets
Home screen widget: Start, Stop, or Replay with one tap; shows “Buffering…” when active. Control Center widget: One-tap toggle to start or stop buffering. Live Activity: Optional live view of an ongoing session.
Siri & Shortcuts
“Hey Siri, start Meeting Rewind” / “Stop Meeting Rewind.” App Intents: Start (optional buffer length), Stop, Replay last X seconds, Toggle. You can build automations (e.g. start when Meeting focus is on) in Shortcuts.
URL scheme
meetingrewind://start, meetingrewind://stop, meetingrewind://replay. Optional: ?bufferLength=60 for start, ?duration=15 for replay.
Apple Watch (Wrist Rewind)
Start/stop buffering and trigger replay from your wrist. State (Buffering/Stopped) syncs between Watch and iPhone via WatchConnectivity. No audio is sent to the Watch; replay plays on the iPhone.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is my audio sent to the cloud?
No. All audio is processed and stored only on your device. The rolling buffer is memory-only and overwritten. Saved recordings and transcripts are stored locally (Core Data).
Does it work with Bluetooth headsets?
Yes. Replay uses the current audio route, so if you have AirPods or another Bluetooth headset connected, replay will play through that device.
Can I use it during phone calls?
During an active phone or VoIP call, iOS may restrict microphone access for other apps. Buffering may pause; it can resume when the call ends and the app is in the foreground again.
How do I remove ads?
Purchase the one-time Remove Ads in-app purchase ($2.99) in Settings. Use “Restore Purchases” if you reinstall or switch devices.
