Solutions for common issues

Timer not working correctly

  1. Check your timer settings in the Settings tab
  2. Ensure the timer duration is set between 5-120 seconds
  3. Try closing and reopening the app
  4. Check if sound effects are enabled if you're expecting audio feedback
  5. Restart your device if the issue persists

Statistics not updating

  1. Check that statistics tracking is enabled in Settings
  2. Make sure you've made at least one decision
  3. Try navigating away from the Statistics tab and returning
  4. If statistics were cleared, you'll need to make new decisions
  5. Restart the app if data still doesn't appear

In-app purchases not working

  1. Check your internet connection
  2. Verify you're signed into the App Store with your Apple ID
  3. Check your payment method in App Store settings
  4. Try restoring purchases in the Settings tab
  5. Contact Apple Support if purchases fail repeatedly

App crashes or freezes

  1. Force close the app and reopen it

History or data missing

Frequently Asked Questions

How does Prefero work?

Prefero presents you with dilemmas between immediate and gradual returns. You can choose an option, let a timer expire (which triggers a coin flip), or manually flip a coin. Each decision is recorded, analyzed, and can be cryptographically verified.

What is cryptographic verification?

Every decision generates a unique SHA-256 hash based on the quandary ID, your selection, and timestamp. This creates a tamper-proof proof document that you can share, proving your decision was made at a specific time.

Is my data private?

Yes! All data is stored locally on your device. We don't collect, transmit, or store any of your data on external servers. Your decision history, statistics, and custom dilemmas remain completely private.

What are the in-app purchases?

Prefero is free to download and use. You can purchase credits ($0.99 for 3 credits) to create custom dilemmas, or subscribe to Advanced Proof features ($2.99/month or $9.99/year) for NLP analysis and detailed insights.

Can I create my own dilemmas?

Yes! With premium credits, you can create unlimited custom dilemmas. Each dilemma costs one credit, and credits never expire. You can organize your custom dilemmas by category and use them in the decision flow.

What devices are compatible?

Prefero works on iPhone and iPad running iOS 17.0 or later. The app is optimized for all screen sizes and supports both portrait and landscape orientations.

How do subscriptions work?

Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage and cancel subscriptions in your Apple ID Account Settings. Subscriptions provide access to Advanced Proof features with NLP analysis.

Can I export my decision history?

Currently, you can share individual proof documents, but bulk export of history is not available. All data remains on your device for privacy. This feature may be added in future updates.
